Previous Techniques after Nose Operation
48 Hours conventional nasal packing following Nasal Surgery. Nose block, discomfort, headache, ear pain, swallowing difficulty are the rule.
Endoscopic selective nasal packing is used in 5% of patients. Allows nose breathing and is more tolerable. 95% of endoscopic sinus surgery patients are not given any nasal pack after operation.
The R.A.F. Cooper award in 1991 was given to this design of nasal clip to avoid nose packing after septal surgery. This allows full nasal breathing and avoids discomfort and is used in all our patients undergoing nasal septal surgery.
