The Hospital
Located in Pollachi, 40 Kms away from Coimbatore, the Manchester of South India, the hospital is well connected by rail and road and is on the way to important southern cities. It is also 40 Kms from Kerala border town of Palghat which is one of the Gateways to Kerala. The hospital is located in a very serene and non-polluted atmosphere and is surrounded by lush green coconut, areca and Malaysian bread fruit trees. The footpath running through this gives a refreshing break from the maddening city life.

The Hospital was started in 1960 in a four acre plot by DR. M.C.Velusamy and Dr. Rukmini both qualified from Madras Medical College and hailing from a rural background.

The MCV ENT trust was started in the memory of late Dr. MC.Velusamy in the same campus in 1991. The main objective of this trust is to deliver the latest ENT treatment at an affordable cost in a non-polluted and serene atmosphere.

The trust promotes events such as ENT Live surgical workshops & Seminars. The trust sponsors free surgeries, by the hospital team in countries such as Kenya in collaboration with other Voluntary Organisations.Presently 20 - 30% of all operations done in the hospital are done free of professional charges.

Hospital runs educational programmes, live surgeries - ENSICON regularly. The 10th ENSICON Live surgeries workshop is arranged for July 19,20 2008 with faculty from INDIA and USA. It also has a museum with a large Collection of specimens. A Temporal bone laboratory and library is available for trainees in ENT.

The staff stays in the same campus so that the patient care is given at any time i.e. round the clock.

MCV ENT Trust Hospital has been recognized by the Department of Health and Family Welfare as a Post Graduate Teaching Hospital and has 2 ENT PG Seats (DNB) per year.

The MCV Trust with cooperation of other organisations and doctors in the hospital has developed equipment and technique for rescue of children trapped in borewells.This method has also been shown to trainees from govt rescue organisations from kerala and Tamilnadu.The trust runs Bharath Vidhya Niketan Matric School at Pollachi where, special resource centre for dyslexic children is available.

The Hospital received a Prestigious Award from the Association of Oto Rhino Laryngologists of India, Tamilnadu State Branch for contribution in advancing ENT treatment and Academic activity in Tamil Nadu, on September 28, 2001.
